About this guide

Product details checked against Candy AI’s public interface and official help center on 29 October 2026. Examples are editorial suggestions. We have not performed a paid call test.

Does Candy AI actually have phone calls?

Yes. Candy AI’s public character interface lists AI Live Phone Call, a subscription requirement, a call confirmation and microphone permission prompts. It currently displays a beta rate of 3 tokens per minute. Check your own confirmation screen; this published rate is not a price guarantee.

A voice message is audio you play in a chat; a live call lets you speak and receive spoken replies. The official help center lists both voice messages and Voice Calls (beta) as token uses. A subscription should not be read as unlimited calling.

That confirms the voice format, not that every character supports every kind of intimate conversation. Check the options in your account and the platform’s rules.

Before the call: five useful checks

  1. Choose a character you like talking to. Read the introduction and exchange a few text messages. Look for a comfortable tone rather than choosing only by the portrait.
  2. Find the call option. Look for a phone control or Call Me in the selected conversation. If it is missing, check access before paying specifically for voice.
  3. Read the cost notice. Check the token rate, your balance and any subscription requirement. Decide how much you are comfortable spending.
  4. Prepare your audio. Find a quiet place, use a comfortable listening volume and check the selected microphone. Headphones can help keep the sound to yourself.
  5. Pick one aim. Perhaps you want playful company, a relaxed fictional date or a warmer voice than text provides. You do not need an elaborate script.

Do not assume upgrading fixes a missing audio feature. Candy AI lists account rollouts, token balance, regional or connection issues, device compatibility and temporary beta interruptions as possible causes.

Start with a simple introduction

Open the supported call flow, read the confirmation and allow microphone access when you intend to speak. Use the first exchange to check the sound and conversational fit before committing to a longer session.

“Hi. I’d like a relaxed, playful conversation. Keep your replies short and ask one question at a time. What would you put on for a quiet evening?”

This is a suggested opening, not an app command. Listen before adding more instructions. If the delivery feels rushed, request a slower pace. If the replies are long, ask for one or two sentences. Those requests can guide the exchange but cannot guarantee a specific performance.

Try a brief session first. Stop if you cannot hear clearly, dislike the style or feel uncomfortable with the cost. More minutes are not automatically a better experience.

Give the conversation somewhere to go

Choose a small shared situation: a table by the window, a late-night walk or catching up after a long day. One setting gives you something to react to without requiring a complicated story.

“Let’s imagine we’re sitting in a quiet café after dinner. I’d like warm conversation and light teasing. Ask me about one good thing from my day.”

Then add a specific detail. “I finally finished a project” gives the character more material than “tell me something.” Follow up on one part of the reply instead of changing subjects immediately.

If you want a different tone, describe the change: “Less dramatic, more casual,” or “Stay with this moment instead of starting a new scene.” See how to make AI voice chat more personal for more ideas.

When the audio gets in the way

If Candy AI cannot hear you, check microphone permission for the site and your browser’s device settings. Close another app that may be using the mic, then reload. The official microphone guide also suggests updating or changing the browser and reconnecting a Bluetooth headset.

If you cannot hear the character, check the tab’s mute setting, volume and audio output. A headset can remain connected when you expect sound from speakers. Test the basics before repeatedly starting paid sessions.

When a reply seems delayed, finish a short sentence and allow time for an answer. Talking over the response makes the exchange harder to follow. If it keeps happening, end the call and use the official help center instead of spending tokens trying to repair it through conversation.

End with one useful takeaway

You can say, “I’m going to stop here. I liked the relaxed pace,” then end the call using the available control. Check your balance and note one preference for next time: shorter replies, a calmer delivery or a more playful character.

Keep a short private note instead of assuming a later call remembers everything. Begin next time with a recap, leaving out identifying information you do not need for the fictional scene.

Ask yourself whether you enjoyed listening, felt comfortable speaking and wanted to continue. If not, adjust one thing or stop. You do not owe a fictional character more time or another purchase.
